about the founder

Karla is a retired Doctor of Physical Therapy who is passionate about combining foundations of efficient posture, breath patterns, and mindfulness with training in fitness, yoga, and other aspects of wellness​ including subtle energetics.  (See PRiSM's meaning).  

 

She currently practices as a Personal Trainer (Certified Special Population Specialist (CSPS)) treating clients in customized training programs for optimal health and wellness.  Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) and Applied Integration Academy (AIA) has been Karla's continuing education direction for growth. She will receive her PRT credential in June 2024.  She also has earned a Biomechanics certification through Pinnacle Performance.

 

She has been teaching Hatha yoga and mindfulness for over 25 years, Aerial yoga for 8 years. Breath awareness is a main pillar for all of Karla's classes, workshops, or private sessions. Her classes offer different cues and support than typical yoga breath practices because of the biomechanic airflow focus. Her classes deliver ways to provide relief to specific body ailments, tips to get the most out of each position, as well as an understanding of the spiritual body and how to tap into one's own wellspring of health. 

Corporate clients have used Karla's wellness programs for meditation/mindfulness instruction as well as Ergonomic training for design of work stations/office settings.  Her training delivers applicable tips to alleviate pain of workplace demands by retraining the body in posture placement. With education of having less wear and tear on one's body and a balanced nervous system for the mind, Karla's goal to bring more power and vitality to each client is met!
